Regions & sub-regions

Territories do two jobs: they decide which rows a person can see, and they drive every filter on Reports.

Team Regions editor: regions with sub-regions and a manager assigned per territory — Regions › sub-regions, each with a manager or an explicit roll-up.

Managers and inheritance

A manager can be assigned per region or per sub-region. Resolution is a three-step fallback: the sub-region's own manager, else the parent region's manager, else the Head of Sales. Captions on this tab and the banner under the command bar both say which of the three happened, so an inherited roll-up is never presented as an assignment.

What a tag does

A person's region tag is hierarchical — West includes West · California — and an empty tag means global visibility. Editing regions is admin-only; reading them is not.
